چکیده
The article gives an introduction to equivariant formal group laws, and explains its relevance to complex oriented cohomol-ogy theories in general and to complex cobordism in particular.

Ring structures of mod p equivariant cohomology rings and ring homomorphisms between them
In this paper, we consider a class of connected oriented (with respect to Z/p) closed G-manifolds with a non-empty finite fixed point set, each of which is G-equivariantly formal, where G = Z/p and p is an odd prime. Using localization theorem and equivariant index, we give an explicit description of the mod p equivariant cohomology ring of such a G-manifold in terms of algebra. This makes ...

is a functor from groups to rings, endowed with induction (transfer) maps. In this paper we investigate these functors for complex oriented cohomology theories E∗, particularly p–complete theories with an associated formal group of height n. We briefly remind our readers of the terms in this last sentence. A multiplicative cohomology theory E∗ is complex oriented if there exists a class x ∈ E2(...
متن کاملRational S 1 - Equivariant Elliptic Cohomology
We give a functorial construction of a rational S 1-equivariant cohomology theory from an elliptic curve equipped with suitable coordinate data. The elliptic curve may be recovered from the cohomology theory; indeed, the value of the cohomology theory on the compactification of an S 1-representation is given by the sheaf cohomology of a suitable line bundle on the curve. The construction is eas...
متن کاملOperations in Complex - Oriented Cohomology Theories Related to Subgroups of Formal Groups
Using the character theory of Hopkins-Kuhn-Ravenel and the total power operation in complex cobordism of tom Dieck, we develop a theory of power operations in Landweber-exact cohomology theories. We give a description of the total power operation in terms of the theory of subgoups of formal group laws developed by Lubin. We apply this machinery in two cases. For the cohomology theory Eh, we obt...
